How it works
When a couple create a enquiry with the Wedding Geek Supplier Search they will answer a number of questions so we can ascertain exactly what they are looking for in their supplier. These question answers are then matched to the data we hold for each supplier.
The Wedding Geek team will then create a longlist of suppliers that exactly or very closely match the couple’s criteria. The Wedding Geek will email each of the longlisted suppliers with the essential details to confirm they are available on the date, can work to the budget and are interested in being shortlisted.
The Supplier then has 24 hours in which to reply if they wish to be shortlisted. The Wedding Geek team will then evaluate all the positive replies and send the suppliers that they feel best fit the criteria to the couple up to the maximum number requested by the couple. At that point the suppliers will be notified they have been short listed and provided with some additional details of the enquiry so they can identify the couple if they then make a direct enquiry.

What requirements are there to be listed?
It is important to us that shortlisted suppliers are to the best of our knowledge reliable and quality suppliers so each application is individually approved before being added to the database.
We do understand different couples have different budgets so we do welcome suppliers from all cost brackets, but do require that minimum standards of service are offered.
When you apply we will then check out your website, and other online presences to confirm you are running a legitimate business. In the event that we are not satisfied with your application we will respond with details which may include the option to provide further information.
The following situations may result in a refused application: (please note this list is not exhaustive and other criteria may apply)
- Evidence of regular double booking/cancellation of couples. Including regularly looking for associate cover
- Large number of legitimate negative reviews
- No portfolio of work available to view
- Portfolio containing work not created by yourself
- Portfolio of work not including real weddings (or other equivalent events for some supplier categories)
How much does it cost?
For the Supplier Search all suppliers start with 3 free credits when registering. Credits are used when your details are provided to a couple who has made a Supplier Search enquiry. How many credits are used will depend on the size of the shortlist the couple requests. For a shortlist of 5 suppliers you will use 2 credits, for a shortlist of 10 suppliers you will use 1 credit.
Suppliers will only use credits if they are on the short list that is sent to the couple. To ensure a swift reply to couples, to be considered for the shortlist suppliers must hold sufficient credits on their account when confirming their interest.
Credits at this time cost £2.50 each if purchased individually or discounted if purchased in bulk.
How do I buy credits?
When you are emailed with a longlist enquiry you will advised how many credits you currently hold and given the option to purchase additional credits either enough for just that enquiry or a discounted bundle if you have insufficient credits.
Are shortlisted suppliers only taken from your current database?
Currently whilst the Wedding Geek is still relatively new and our database growing, when required if there are not enough suppliers to create a satisfactory longlist we will call out to suppliers via social media, our website and other channels to join the database to ensure we can provide couples with the best quality matches possible.
Can I remove my listing
Yes you can request the removal of your listing at any time, but at this time all listings are added manually so it may take up to 5 working days.
Please note if you request the removal of your entry in our database whilst you have credits remaining on the system, these credits are not refundable in part or in full. Credits cannot be transferred with the exception of between two businesses owned by the same individual.
